According to a report presented at the headquarters “think tank”, the main problem is the lack of demand, which also marks the 6 following weak points of the Spanish education system:
- The high costs of the registrations. 29% of young people declare themselves unable of obtaining a higher education due to its cost registration form and the cost of life during the 4 years of University.
- 77% of university students believe that professional education is more useful than a university degree when finding a job.
- Spanish academic institutions have not adapted to the post-crisis (financial and economic crisis) environment which the country is currently going through. The elevated regionalization of education generates little incentive for the purveyors of education to coordinate their offer at a national level.
- SMEs do not want to receive just-graduated students.“In Spain, small enterprises cannot or will not dedicate their resources to train young people”, the report affirms. They prefer experienced employees. The 27% of unemployment makes that a really easy alternative.
- Lack of support to find a job, hardly do our students or we receive any information.
- Lack of training periods. Just the 54% of our undergraduates receives and does them even though training really helps when preparing the students.
